Training Overview

  • What to Expect

    Peace Out Yoga (YTT) offers a well-rounded training experience including lectures, discussion, practical application, and experiential learning. It is an encouraging and challenging program that meets the needs of many learning styles.


    The POY 200-hour training aims to not only ensure trainees can to lead a 60-minute vinyasa and mindful sequence, but that teach in their voice and style. Learn clear and concise cuing with a focus on inclusive language and modifications to ensure all student’s abilities are met.


    The POY YTT is committed to offering aspects of yoga that are necessary to have a well-rounded understanding of yoga tradition as well as innovation to best serve current time and culture. Philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, and personal development anchor the instruction of yoga teaching.

  • Objectives

     Foundational Knowledge: Acquire a solid understanding of yoga philosophy, history, and principles, establishing a strong foundation for your personal practice and teaching.

     

     Asana Mastery: Explore and master a diverse range of yoga asanas (postures) with a focus on proper alignment, adjustments, and modifications. Develop the ability to practice and teach these postures safely and effectively.

     

     Teaching Methodology: Learn effective teaching techniques, communication skills, and class sequencing. Understand how to structure and lead a well-rounded yoga class catering to different levels and needs.

     

     Anatomy and Physiology: Gain insights into the anatomy of the human body relevant to yoga practice. Understand the physiological benefits and potential risks associated with various yoga poses.

     

     Meditation and Breathwork: Explore meditation and pranayama (breathwork) techniques, cultivating mindfulness and awareness. Understand how to integrate these practices into your personal routine and share them with your students.

     

     Ethics and Philosophy: Delve into the ethical considerations of teaching yoga and explore the philosophy that underpins yogic principles. Develop a deeper understanding of the yogic lifestyle beyond the physical practice.

     

     Community and Inclusivity: Foster a sense of community and connection among participants. Learn to create a welcoming and inclusive space for students of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and experiences.

     

     Self-Reflection and Personal Growth: Engage in self-inquiry and reflection to deepen your personal practice and cultivate self-awareness. Recognize the potential for personal growth and transformation throughout the training.

     

     Practical Teaching Experience: Gain hands-on experience through practice teaching sessions, receiving constructive feedback to refine your teaching skills. Build confidence in delivering clear and engaging instruction.


     Certification: Complete the training with the necessary requirements to obtain a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification, enabling you to teach yoga confidently and ethically.

    • Unlimited yoga classes and livestream. (Typically a $139month value.)

    Internship & Mentorship Program:

    •  Following graduation, Peace Out Yoga offers an internship and mentorship program in which YTT alumni can apply to participate in. 
    • This opportunity provides real time exposure to teaching, experience leading your own class, and mentorship.
    • The structure consists of two rounds of a three month commitment of teaching donation based classes on the schedule. All classes are donation based and the money donated goes directly uinto the scholarship fund for future YTT trainees.
    • While participating as an intern you will also be part of a mentorship with a teacher on our team. You will attend and assist one class a week (only one intern per class time) in which to grow and learn your skills and understanding of yoga.
    • While part of the program you will also be given unlimited access to our studio classes.

    Access to an Exclusive YTT Alumni Membership upon Graduation

    • Upon graduation you have the choice to opt into the YTT Alumni Membership at $100/month. (Typically a $139/month Value)

Independent Online Work: Approx 2.5 hours worth weekly

Pricing

$3,400.00*


Payment includes unlimited yoga at Peace Out Yoga for the duration of the training (active memberships will be frozen) and a detailed training manual.


Trainees can pay in full or set up a payment plan which is charged every 30 days. Tuition is due in full by graduation day.

Scholarships

To serve a diverse group of aspiring teachers Peace Out Yoga offers partial scholarships to join teacher training. We have limited assistance funds available for each teacher training, which are granted based on individual needs.
